The story of SWEETLY BRONZED™ began in 2020 when our founder, Ashley Akins, returned to Ohio and began offering her sugaring hair removal and airbrush tanning services to friends and family from her parents' basement in Coshocton, Ohio. The buzz spread rapidly, and the growing clientele motivated Ashley to take her venture to the next level by establishing her own location in Columbus.

Starting at the Paul Mitchell school in Columbus in 2014, she set out on a path that would lead her to becoming a sugaring hair removal specialist and spray tanning expert. After her graduation, she made the bold decision to move to Los Angeles, seeking new challenges and opportunities.
In Los Angeles, Ashley discovered sugaring hair removal, a technique that worked well for her extreme sensitive skin. Impressed by the results, she decided to pursue this method further. She applied to become a sugarist at a salon in West Hollywood and began honing her skills. Her dedication and passion for sugaring led her to excel in the field.
Ashley's journey took another turn when she expanded her services to include spray tanning. Recognizing the perfect combo between sugaring and spray tanning, she saw the opportunity for offering a complete beauty experience and confidence boost for everyone. As her expertise and reputation grew, Ashley's work found its way onto prestigious platforms such as red carpets, magazine covers, and music videos. Her dedication to providing top-notch services with a focus on client comfort and education set her apart in the industry.
Since relocating to Columbus in 2020, Ashley recognized several deficiencies within the beauty industry, such as overcharging for low-quality products, rushed experiences, and a lack of attention to client comfort and education. With an unwavering dedication to uplift the sugaring and spray tan industry, SWEETLY BRONZED™ was born.
SWEETLY BRONZED™ places significant emphasis on enhancing the client experience, ensuring that all team members receive in-house training directly from Ashley.
